Not only do tear stains make your dog look dirty, but they might irritate your dog's eyes. My Lhasa Apso scratches her face a lot. I was thinking of trying Angels Eyes to see if it would also get rid of the brown around her mouth. I've read that some people have had success with it for that as well.
